In every clinic, whether it's for novices, competitors or calf-ropers, Johnny stresses the same foundation: communication, understanding and respect. "To really connect with their horses, students need to open their eyes and throw away their clocks, egos, frustrations and expectations and figure out how they can help their horse understand what they want them to do."
Several clinics take place annually between late May and September. Included in these clinics will be the Annual Sybil Leverett Memorial Horsemanship Clinic to benefit breast cancer research. Please support this worthy cause. The clinics appeal to all abilities, from basic skills for beginners to more advanced instruction and problem solving.
New this year, Johnny's former apprentice and now greatest protege, Brent Winston, joined together to offer two special horemanship retreats at the Green Mesa Ranch. They were well attended and feedback was extremely positive stating it was the best clinic most had experienced due to the the diversity in the activities, three days of "real" riding and being able to learn so much about how to improve horsemanship skills while enjoying these two personalities together again! Don't miss out on next year -- Johnny's schedule will be updated by March 2012.
