Horse Training Flyer: Click to view  Summer & Fall Horsemanship Clinics: Click to viewFor more than thirty five years Johnny Leverett has been quietly demonstrating his unique way of "helping" a misunderstood horse, starting a young colt or helping a person experience a life-changing relationship with their four-legged companion. Those who have been fortunate enough to know or work with Johnny agree that he stands as one of the best horseman in the country.  In any profession there are those few individuals who excel above the rest.  Johnny has a unique gift in being able to communicate with a horse's language, emotions and motivations.

Johnny is available for colt starting and training horses April 1 until the snow flies at the Ranch!  The price is $800 per month and includes board. If you are unable to trailer your horse to the Ranch, Johnny will pick him or her up for the cost of a mileage fee.  In addition, a special Spring "Tune Up" rate is available for the months of April and May to get your horse off on the right "hoof" for a great summer of riding. October is a perfect time to ride on the Ranch and work with your horse so don't miss out on riding this fall!

Johnny also offers a real cowboy experience from one to five days at his Green Mesa Ranch in Parlin, Colordo. Cowboy School includes learning how to rope, work cattle and trail ride and is available to all levels of ability. Come try it out and be a "Cowboy For A Day" on a real working ranch. The 300 acre Colorado ranch boarders thousands of acres of BLM land with endless miles of trails.  Cowboy School also teaches students the basic fundamentals of horsemanship stressing a foundation of communication, understanding and a relationship built on mutual respect and trust with your horse.

Johnny's Horsemanship instruction, Clinics & Weekend Workshops appeal to all abilities, from basic skills for beginners to more advanced instruction and problem solving. Many horse owners of all abilities are missing the basic fundamentals of communicating, understanding and leading their horse with confidence. Johnny simply stated it at a recent private clinic demonstration: "If you try to force, you'll have a fight you probably won't win. The best control you can have is mental cooperation and understanding."

All of Johnny's programs are meant to bring riders to a point where their horses will do what the rider asks and the horse will perform willingly and with respect in a non-confrontational environment. If you want to experience a safer, more enjoyable relationship with your horse, establish confidence between you and your horse or want to learn to rope and work cattle, then come visit Johnny at the Green Mesa Ranch.  Rejuvenate your spirit and relieve the stress from your typical everyday life while focusing on your own relationship skills through patience, confidence, commitment and self-esteem through horses.

The Green Mesa Ranch is the "Essence of Colorado" and one of the most unique and beautiful places to ride on the the western slope.  If you're a fisherman, bring your pole.  The ranch offers quality fishing and is a good way to relax at the end of the day.

Horsemanship Clinics fill to capacity quickly, so it is suggested to make your arrangements to attend well in advance. Workshops focus on one, two or three topics such as saddle fitting, trailer loading, ground work, how to get over your fears and gain your horses respect. These Workshops are customized to fit the clients needs and are popualr for those that prefer to work on things without the pressure from a large group of students.

Boarding and overnighting of horses is available at the Ranch, with proper health papers.  Johnny is available year round to come assess your horse or to hold a Clinic at your facility.
